This is the front cover for a Kerrang! magazine. The title is really bold and they tend to use bold colours such as black or white for the title so that it really stands out against the background. For this particular cover they have used white which looks really effective against the dark grey background. Kerrang!'s title looks like the text is shattering and this is because of the genre of the music. Kerrang!'s music is rock and people usually think of rock music as very loud and glass shattering so this fits in well with the genre. The image used is also good, although the model isn't using direct address, it is still a fairly striking image as it really stands out from the background and the fact he's wearing all black and his hair is black is what makes the image used so effective. The front cover includes a masthead which shows what the magazine issue is going to include. This is especially good as if it is something that a lot of people will be interested in then if they see this, this may encourage them to purchase the magazine. The magazine also features a sort of strapline which tells the audience what else is going to be in that particular issue of the magazine. This magazine is aimed at late teens to mid-late twenties. You can tell that it is aimed at teens as well as older audience because of the language used. For example 'WTF?!' and 'Rare signed birthday booty!' As, if it was for an older audiencves, say, for over 30's then they would not use language such as that. I think that the white, green and yellow texts really stand out.
